The role of county councillors : an evluation - 2000
This articles considers the roles of county councillors in the context of the contemporary reform agenda. This study incorporates an analysis of the relevant academic literature, however the conclusions are based on interviews with county councillors in Devon. The responses are used to draw a distinction between community focused and more traditional members. In addition, conclusions are drawn about the extent to which their behavior matched the government`s notion of the model councillor under the reformed political management strucutures
