Gerencia publica, gerencia privada : la evolucion de las practicas dirigentes en las grandes organizationes publicas y privadas francesas. Cuales convergencias? Cuales diferencias = Public management, private management. Management practice evolution in French big public and private organizations - what convergences and what differences - 2002

The article has two hypotheses. The first one states that there is a unique and general management valid to big private and public organizations, which leads to interpret the differences between managerial practices and private practices as a result of backwardness. The second hypothesis, on the contrary, holds that there are essential differences in the logic of action of public agencies and private enterprises, which deduce important differences in management know-how relevant to each of these cases. Deepening on the study of pertinence of each of these two hypothses, the article sees managerial practice evolution in big public and private organizations around two major challenges: piloting productive activities and service quality. From here, the eventual point of view of convergence and/or divergence in managerial practice evolution in public and private organizations analyzed
