This article illustrates the need for electronic-learning products to be well designed and, if possible, customized to meet very specific purposes. Both Jaguar and the ILAE are using CD-ROMS to accomplish ends which would be difficult - if not impossible - to achieve by other training methods. And both organizations see the CD-ROMS as playing only a part in the overall training mixtures. E-learning is no panacea, but it can play a very important role in bringing learners up to speed in a lively and interesting way
