This review is based on: " Designing a management development programme for procurement executives" by Humphreys (2001) of the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. After a brief review of decentralization and its effect on purchasing function this article sets out the reationale behind the professional training programme adopted by Aero plc, together with tables showing programme content and participant evaluation. The case study is brief and achieves the aim of demonstrating the process without presenting too detailed an account of the subject's business. The paper would be of interest to academic researchers but it also emphasizes the application of the methodology and would be of practical value to the business person |
