Comment caracteriser la decision d'innovation? S'agit-il d'une decision rationnelle ou davantage socio-politique? Apres un rappel des deux modes de decision incluant leurs outils, leurs avantages et inconvenients, l'auteur montre qui'il existe une evolution logique au cours du developpement d'un nouveau prouit: la composant socio-politique s'efface progressivement au profit de la composante rationnelle. Au depart, le manque d'information necessaire a la decision rationnelle et la resistance a l'innovation sont tout deux favorables a une domination du socio-politique. Ensuite, les freins initiaux etant leves et l¡nformation disponible accrue, la comprosante rationnelle peut alors dominer.
