This paper examines changes that the Swedish, German and Japanese production systems are currently undertaking. It argues that new economic and socio-institutional contextual conditions world wide together with domestic events are influencing a piece-meal changes at the heart of the Swedish, German and Japanese production Systems. Implications for Brazilian industry are discussed
