Material type: materialTypeLabelArticlePublisher: Oxfordshire : Routledge, July/Aug. 2010Total Quality Management & Business Excellence 21, 7-8, p. 725-736Abstract: A new framework for building quality into construction projects has been developed by the authors. In order to determine its suitability within the industry and also to gauge the extent to which it was felt to be simple, easy to understand, systematic, well structured, comprehensive, practical and applicable (the required attributes of a framework), it was piloted for evaluation in two UK construction companies. Having modified it to take account of the recommendations made, it was further evaluated in another five companies in the same sector. The methodology employed to perform the evaluation and the suggestions gathered during the pilot studies are firstly described. Each company's feedback, comments and assessment of the framework are discussed. The results of the evaluation are then presented before summarising the limitations associated with the study and further work
