By 2002, six years after after passage of the act, federal courts had decided a series of cases preempting and overturning local regulation of telecommunications providers. This article reports on the leading cour decisions concerning local telecommunications ordinances that regulate telecommunications service providers. Local governments to affect cable and wireless infraestructure placement and high-speed digital services within their jurisdictions
