By: TOBIN, Nona.
Material type: materialTypeLabelArticlePublisher: 2002Public Personnel Management 31, 1, p. 65-78Abstract: This article discusses the value that can be added to public sector salary surveys through the use of the Internet. Several public sector coalitions (the San Francisco Bay Area Employee Relations Service; Chicago suburban are MetroNet; Orange County Division of the League Metropolitan Municipalities) have applied technology to improve sharing compensation data. Also highlighted are commercial ventures that generate salary information on the web. In particular, the article covers the challenges faced by two ventures (www.
