Human resource management in UK organizations - 2000

Human resource management (HRM) is evolving. For years it was called personnel and was stuck firmly in the personnel department. But changes have been afoot for some time. In the UK, there is a move towards integration and devolvement. At first glance these two trends might seem mutually exclusive, but in facto they are taking place at the same time in many organizations. A survey of 93 UK organizations reveals the extent of these two movements and identifies some of the drivers that lead an organization to integrate and devolve its HRM functions
