Cadastro não é cartório - Rio de Janeiro : IBAM, jan./fev./mar. 2006

Municipality cadastres, once an exclusively tax instrument, have become, in the last years, more important as a real territory information systems. These municipality cadastres have been supporting many actions of urban development, land tenures and public services planning. However, in Brazil, the actual cadastre methodologies are still far from these demands. To stand the pressure of new information scopes, the author defends the skipping of bureaucratic practices and nonsense discussion of the cartographic accuracy as well as it's strict measuring. As a result of this starting point of reflection, was created the technical cadastre cart, elaborated by IBAM to Caixa Econômica Federal.
