Using telementoring to deliver training to SMEs - 2002

The article examines common themes and issues concerned with training provision and small and medium-sized firms. After presenting the example of the Dias scheme in the Netherlands, the article asesses the potential of interactive distance learning, or "telementoring", to break down the barriers that owner-managers may present towards formal training. The article, based on research carried out among small firms in west London, but written in an accessible style, will appeal more to training providers seeking to market their wares to small and medium-sized firms than to the owner-managers of those firms. The latter group could more profitably spend their scarce reading time on other texts
