Learning to learn - 2002

This review is based on "Learning: a corporate perspective" by Roger Lewis and Quetin Whitlock and "Lifelong learning in SMES: a case study" by Rick Holden, Vikki Smith and Dave Devins. The Lewis and Whitlock article takes a look at the main characteristics of lifelong learning in a corporate context and outlines some of the barriers to its effective implementation. Good practice is examined in two mini case studies involving a government agency and a SME inthe UK. The article serves as a highly readable introduction to the subject. The article by Holden, Smith and Devins takes a look at the effectiveness of a project aimed at developing lifelong learning at a publishing firm. It shows how the project management commitment ot the scheme was crucial
