Challenging roles at the State Bank of India
- 2002
This review is based on "Training for changing managerial role behavior: experience in a developing country," by T.K. Das of Baruch College, City Universtiy of New York, USA. The article was originally published in the Journal of Management Development. v.20 n.7 2001 pp.578-603. This is a very readable paper which gives a clear picture of the culture of the bank before reorganization and t he steps and techniques which were used to develop the training program. There is an emphasis on the application of role theory and other concepts which will be of value to both academics and those involved in developing and delivering training programs
