Feedback, feedback everywhere...but how effective is the 360-degree approach - 2002

This is a review of "360-degree feedback: self-or assisted development?" By B. Murphy and "The impact of executive coahing and 360 feedback on leadership effectiveness" by E.C. Thach. Murphy's article is an interesting critique on the benefits of assisted 360-degree feedback. A case is made for the retention of trainers and the dangers of relying solely on software packages are highlighted. Thach's case study is longer and more in-depth. Once again, the benefits of human interaction during the 360-degree process are championed, this time with empirical evidence. Thach goes on to explore the close link between feedback and coaching
