520 3 _aInterpretation is an underlyng element of policy, and both analysts and practitioners need to subject the interpretive base for policy practice to critical scrutiny. The article describes how reflexivity about the interpretive base for their own practive is helping some clnical practitioners in the UK to restructure the negotiated order of their own work setting. We show how the use of institutional organization theory and interpretive policy analysis can generate a more robust understandin of both policy and organization change
