520 3 _aThe automobile and other related industries make efforts in implementing quality management systems ISO/TS 16949 in order to improve the quality of products and services. Additionally, many companies in the world develop an organised and systematic approach by applying Six Sigma. Six Sigma (6รณ) is a useful tool to improve strategic process and develop new products and services that has been developed by Motorola in the USA as the best business operation method to reduce costs, gain profits and achieve competitive advantage for many enterprises in a global market. This research surveyed companies include automobile, semiconductor and other related industries that had implemented ISO/TS 16949 in Taiwan, and studied the effect of implementing ISO/TS 16949 on Six Sigma by making use of questionnaires and visits. The results of this research show that ISO/TS 16949 has significant effects on the key success factors of Six Sigma to provide systematic procedures and structures that are helpful for companies implementing ISO/TS 16949 to rapidly and effectively develop Six Sigma improvement programmes with the best performance in order to gain competitive advantage in the world.
