One such approach, known as Positive Discipline (PD) is specifically addressed. An Examination of the application and effectiveness of PD to Pinellas County, Florida indicates that PD has improved the state of discipline in the County, Nonpunitive approaches to discipline such as PD deserve greater attention from government employers because they can influence employee commitment to and hence the overall effectiveness of the organization
