Major events have led to flurries of activity, but the real concern is whether this activity is sustainable once the initial impetus dies away. Do real changes take place in the way services are provided for Britain`s Black and minority ethnic communities or is it a merely a case of "window dressing". This article looks at the curent policy environment within which race equalities issues are located. It supports this task using the empirical case study of the Londo Borough of Camden in its recent attemp to account for tis own performance around equality of opportunity
