Profile of the uninvolved worker : an examination of employee attitudes toward management practices - New York : Marcel Dekker, 1988

This paper examines the relationship which employee' attitudes toward work grop relationships, supervisory relationships, performance appraisal systems, and organizational commitment have on worker involvement. Discriminant analysis demonstrates that these “organizational humanist” attitudes do discriminate between the involved and uninvolved worker. Because this analysis also suggests a unidmensional nature to the concept of worker involvement, further analysis was conducted using a regression technique. The regression analysis confirms a relationship between these nothions (especially with respect to intergroup relationships and job challenge and employee involvement
